What Does Political Context Tell Us? Understanding the Persistence of Ideological Imprints in the Case of Turkish Humor Magazines

This study aims to develop a contextualized perspective for understanding the variation in persistence of founders’ ideological imprints across different periods. We argue time-varying influence political circumstances on imprinting grasp consequences multiple imprints. Employing multiple-case research design that relies heavily archival data, we explored contextual sources cartoons Turkish humor magazines from 1972 2015. Our findings show is related changes result (in)congruence between founder’s ideology and governing party, type founder represents, change within party over time.
